14 days stay limit
"Areas open to dispersed camping or designated campgrounds in the Kingman Field Office are limited to a 14-day stay limit" (BLM Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area page; the Route 66 Historic Back Country Byway page repeats the same limit). No rolling window (e.g. per 28 days) or required move distance is stated on the office's pages - ask the field office how the 14 days are counted.
Where you can camp
Allowed unless posted
"Areas surrounding the Route 66 Historic Back Country Byway are open to dispersed camping" (limited to a 14-day stay limit); generally, "most BLM lands allow dispersed camping unless an area is posted 'Closed to Camping' or has specific restrictions" (BLM camping program page). Exception: "The CFRA [Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area] is open to day use only. No camping or overnight parking is permitted at any of the trailheads." source
Keep your distance
- Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area (the trail system just outside Kingman): "open to day use only. No camping or overnight parking is permitted at any of the trailheads." Scope: CFRA only, not the whole field office. source
- Recommended: 200 ft — BLM's national camping guidance: "Stay at least 200 feet from lakes, rivers, and streams to protect water quality." No Kingman-specific numeric water setback was found on official pages. source
Roads and vehicle access
Ask the district which roads allow camping
BLM's national guidance says "vehicles must stay on designated roads and trails unless the area is specifically designated for off-road vehicle use," but no Kingman Field Office travel-management page or off-route camping-access allowance was verified. Four-wheel drive is required for some byway-adjacent areas (e.g. Warm Springs Wilderness access).
Fires right now
We don't watch this office's fire orders yet — check its own site before you light anything. Here's what stage 1 and stage 2 mean when an order is up.
Closures and special orders
- Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area - day use only Standing restriction: the CFRA is day-use only; no camping or overnight parking at any trailhead.
