How the program works here
El Dorado County’s AQMD announces “burn” and “no burn” days for outdoor burning, working with the local fire districts and CAL FIRE. The daily status is posted on the county’s Burn Day page and its social feeds, and read out on the burn-status phone lines.
Two things make this county different from its neighbors: the burn-day call covers outdoor burning of vegetation, and — in the county’s own words as of late 2025 — “There are no restrictions on burning in fireplaces, woodstoves, and pellet stoves within El Dorado County.” The county’s page blocks automated readers, so this page carries no live status; the phone line and the page below have today’s answer.
